German Gluwein in Crockpot

Family and friends are arriving tonight to celebrate the holidays so we made some Gluwein! This is a family tradition and recipe. Merry Christmas!

Gluwein

- 1 bottle red wine

- 1/2 cup water

- 1/2 lb. sugar

- 2 whole cloves

- 1 cinnamon stick

- lemon and orange peel 

Boil all ingredients, except wine, and reduce the quantity in half. Strain, add to the wine and bring to a boiling point. Serve hot- we keep it warming in the crockpot!
